Miniature Pinschers

I am pleased to introduce to you our little doggies.

Holloway's "Peanut" Buttercup

Peanut was born November 15, 1999 and came into our lives when he was six weeks old. He developed diabetes in March, 2008. We pretty much let him eat any and everything he wanted up to this point. He weighed around 22 pounds prior to the diabetes. We now know that importance of feeding a pet a well balanced diet and not letting them get over-weight. Peanut gets two injections of insulin a day. In the beginning it was very hard for me to inject him, but now it's just a part of our daily routine. He eats Prescription Science Diet W/D and loves it. His weight is now around 10 pounds. His ears are uncropped and a bit big and floppy.

Holloway's "Bambie" Dear

Bambie was born October 18, 2001, and came into our lives when she was six weeks old. Bambie weighed around 22 pounds prior to Peanut developing diabetes. At the time he was diagnosed, we put her them both on a diet. Bambie eats the same food a Peanut since it is good for weight control. She now weighs around 15 pounds and appears to still be losing some weight. She is a hunter and doesn't miss anything that moves. If she picks up the scent of a gopher in a hole, she will dig until she buries herself trying to get to it. She has very nice ears, which are uncropped.

Bambie - miniature pinschers, pets, dog

Peanut and Bambie are both AKC registered Miniature Pinschers. We were hoping to breed them at least one time. When it came time for the breeding, Bambie wanted no part of it. After that they went straight to the vet's for neutering and spaying. Couldn't have any more periods of frustration for Peanut and terror for Bambie. Peanut has an ID chip, but Bambie doesn't. After seeing how it is done we decided it was too cruel to put her through that.
