The backgrounds found within these pages are free for use on your personal web site. If you decide to use one of our free backgrounds, please save a copy of the background to your hard drive and load it to your server. Linking directly to the images on our server is not allowed. We also ask that you furnish a link back to www.arholloway.com on each page where you use one of our background graphics. This will help others find our site and make it worth our time and effort to create additional web site background graphics to offer for free use. Since we are just starting our gallery we don't have very many images at this time. We do plan to create additional images and add new backgrounds as they become available. At the current time we only have seamless tiled backgrounds, but will also feature bordered backgrounds in the future. Check back often to see what's new. We hope you enjoy browsing our gallery and find something you like and can use. The backgrounds are categorized by texture and pattern. In each category you will find a variety of colors of the same texture or pattern. We have also supplied pages that display an examples of each background along with a color chart to make it easy to figure out what colors will go well with the background. Our links page lists other sites offering free web site graphics. If you don't find a background here that suits you, try some of the sites we have listed on our links page. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAVING: To save an graphic to your hard drive right click on the image you which to save. A pop-up menu will open. From there select "Save Picture As." Next a window will open asking where you wish to save the picture. Find the location where you wish to save the graphic and click save. Prior to clicking save, you can rename the image, if you like. The graphic should now be on your hard drive. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING: In order to use the graphic on your web page, you will need to upload it to your web hosting server. You can do this using FTP software or through your hosting control panel, if allowed by your hosting company. It is fairly simple to add a background to your web pages. You add the background to your body tag <BODY> by adding background=image.gif and replacing image.gif with the name of file for the background you wish to use. Example of how your code should look: <body background="image.gif">. The images are 128px X 128px and will tile seamlessly on your web pages. The small image repeats itself to cover the entire page.
